Race Day Information
Packet pick up will be held FRIDAY from 5-7 in
the gymnasium. You can also come Saturday morning starting at 8am. Please take
a look at the schedule below outlining Saturday's festivities.
Please keep in mind that parking will
be limited as the front parking lot will be closed for the safety of our
participants so we encourage you to walk or ride bikes, if possible. Make sure
to plan accordingly.
Strollers are welcome but we ask that
families with strollers line up near the back of the pack. Unfortunately, our
canine friends are not allowed to join in this fun event, as dogs are not
permitted on school grounds however service dogs are always okay :)
As you are out on the course, please
note that there are orange cones and arrows placed along the route. GREEN
arrows are for 1 mile participants to follow and BLUE arrows are for
5k participants. There will be a water station halfway through the 5k
route at Glacier Crossing Park. Please respect the neighborhood lawns and
remain on the sidewalk throughout the whole course. Be cautious at each
intersection and always watch for traffic!
As you finish your run/walk, we want
you to stay and mingle with other families and we encourage you to line up near
the finish line to cheer on other participants as they finish strong! To
maintain the community-centered focus, we want everyone to leave happy and
proud of their accomplishments of finishing the fun run. We will not be hosting
a raffle this year, but have decided to distribute finisher ribbons to all
children.
8:00-8:50
Packet Pick-up and Registration
Packet Pick-up will be located in
front of the main doors at the school. Race day registration will be available
although we have VERY few extra shirts this year, so you may not be guaranteed
a shirt.
Parking is also very limited on race day. The front parking lot will be closed
off for the safety of our participants; however the back staff parking lot will
be available. We are encouraging families
who live close to Chavez to walk, ride bikes, or carpool with others.
8:50 5k participants will gather in the bus lane
to start
9:00
5k Fun Run will start
Please be aware that we will have
wave starts for both the 5k and 1-mile participants. Because all participants
must remain on the sidewalks for the duration of the course, we are asking that
those who plan on walking or who have strollers line up at the back. Remember
that this is a fun run and the races will NOT be timed.

One-mile run/walk will start
Again, for the safety of our
participants everyone will remain on the sidewalks along the entire of length
of this route. If you plan on walking or have strollers, we ask that you kindly
line up toward the back of the group. We will be starting in waves.
10:00-11:00
Race Celebrations
Once you are done with the race,
we encourage you to enjoy your post race snacks and stay to enjoy music and
mingle with other families. There will be water and fruit provided at the
finish line for all participants. Festivities
are expected to wrap up around 11:00.
We are hoping for great weather; however the Cheetah Chase
will take place rain or shine! In the case of severe weather, the run will be
cancelled for the safety of our participants. We will call the race by 8:00 and
will post it here on our website.
