We are so grateful to have had such a successful Cheetah Chase. We hope to make this a continued tradition and are already looking forward to next year! We will keep you posted as soon as we have our 2015 date set.

2014 Race Day Information

Race Day Information

8:00-8:50 Packet Pick-up and Registration

Packet Pick-up will be located in front of the main doors at the school. Race day registration will be available although shirts will not be guaranteed.

Parking is limited. The front parking lot will be closed off for the safety of our participants, however the back staff parking lot will be available. We are encouraging families who live close to Chavez to walk, ride bikes, or carpool with others.

8:50 5K participants will gather in the bus lane to start

9:00 5K run will start

Please be aware that we will have wave starts for both the 5K and 1 Mile participants. Because all participants must remain on the sidewalks for the duration of the course, we are asking that those who plan on walking or who have strollers line up at the back. Remember that this is a fun run and the races will NOT be timed.

9:05 1-mile participants will gather in the bus lane to start

9:10 1-mile run/walk will start

Again, for the safety of our participants everyone will remain on the sidewalks along the entire of length of this route. If you plan on walking or have strollers, we ask that you kindly line up toward the back of the group. We will be starting in waves.

10:00-11:00 Race Celebrations

Once you are done with the race, we encourage you to enjoy your post race snacks and stay to enjoy music and mingle with other families. The Chavez Girls on the Run Teams will be hosting a bake sale with all proceeds benefitting Box of Balloons, a non-profit organization that provides supplies for a birthday party for kids who cannot typically celebrate a birthday due to socio-economic and other barriers with supplies such as decorations, cake mix, frosting, games, etc. You can learn more about it at www.boxofballoons.org.

Festivities are expected to wrap up between 10:30-11:00.

We are hoping for great weather; however the Cheetah Chase will take place rain or shine! In the case of severe weather, the run will be cancelled for the safety of our participants. We will call the race by 8:00 and will post it on our website.

We are one month away from our first annual Cheetah Chase! You will find all race information and updates here. We are still looking for volunteers for race day, specifically course guides to help keep runners/walkers safe on our course.

You can either print off forms or ask your child's teacher for more forms. One form per person please! Registration will accepted up through race day, however in order to be guaranteed a t-shirt please have your forms in by May 16.
